PROGRAM ABSTRACT
In coordination with an advisory workgroup, the Texas Commission on
Environmental Quality is developing revisions to the Texas Surface Water Quality
Standards and to the Standards Implementation Procedures. Major revisions under
consideration include (1) a broader range of recreational uses and associated
bacteria criteria, (2) new numerical criteria for nutrients in large reservoirs
in Texas, (3) numerous updates of toxic criteria to protect human health and
aquatic life, and (4) updated site-specific standards for over 115 water bodies.
The presentation will include an overview of the status of the revisions and a
short discussion of key proposals.
