Position Description

Global Wastewater Treatment company is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Representative with experience in the wastewater treatment industry to be responsible for generating leads, qualifying potential customers for the Company’s systems, closing orders and meeting sales targets. Duties will include sales presentations, determining customer wastewater characteristics and flows and coordinating with technical and engineering teams to define the optimum wastewater treatment system for the customer’s needs. In order to be successful in this role, the Technical Sales Representative will need to have a fundamental understanding of wastewater processing, basic wastewater regulatory knowledge, a consultative approach to sales and superior interpersonal and selling skills.

Position Minimum Experience

Previous experience in industrial, residential or municipal wastewater treatment in a sales role is strongly desired.
Relocation is not required.

Scope of Responsibilities

1. Developing an active pipeline of target customers for the Company’s wastewater treatment systems
2. Engage prospective customers at the facility, engineering, regulatory and management level
3. Lead the company process specifying and designing the appropriate solution for the customer with support form engineering, technical and regulatory colleagues.
4. Manage the customer relationship during the design, quotation, installation and commissioning process.
5. Prepare weekly and monthly reports on target accounts, prospects, and pipeline.
6. Making sales presentations to prospective clients.
7. Coordinating sales efforts with marketing programs.
8. Understanding and promoting the company systems and solutions
9. Travel as necessary to visit customers and prospective customers to evaluate needs and maintain relationships.
10. Preparing and submitting proposals to prospective customers.
11. Responding to customer questions about systems, products, prices and availability.
Technical Sales Representative Requirements-
1. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical field.
2. Wastewater Treatment industry experience in sales is necessary.
3. Ability to travel in the U.S. as necessary to visit both ongoing customers and prospective customers
4. A commitment to excellent customer service.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with both customers and suppliers.
7. Experience using computers including using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
8. Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
