Trent Woodward Memorial Donation
Trenton Thomas Woodward, 52, of Austin, Texas left this earth for his eternal home Sunday November 5, 2023.
Celebration of Life was Friday November 17, 11:00 at Tarrytown United Methodist Church 2601 Exposition Blvd. Austin, TX. 78703 with Rusty Teeter officiating. Services will be held in Amarillo, TX at a later date under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Trent was born July 22, 1971, in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas to Tom and Sandra Woodward. He graduated Salutatorian from Spade High School in 1989. He received his bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences in 1993 and his master's degree in clinical Exercise Physiology in 1995, both from Texas Tech University. He then moved to Austin and began working at St. David's in cardiac rehabilitation. He later moved into sales and was a Regional Sales Manager at Environment One Corporation at the time of his passing. Trent was passionate about volunteer work and found his calling in the organizations he supported. He was Founder of Pints for People, a project that benefits Water for People. The mission is to raise funds and awareness to provide access for clean water and adequate sanitation to more than 2.1 billion people. He volunteered as a coach for all his boys' sports activities, Front Steps Austin resource center for the homeless, and a program called Discovery. During his time in Discovery, he found his life's purpose which was to encourage men of all ages to be the leaders they are called to be by challenging them to play with heart. He sponsored many people through the Discovery program. One of his favorite mottos in life was "What you do matters". A second motto he would often tell people is "How do you want to be remembered?"
Trent's passion in life was his three boys, Olin, Ellis, and Miles. Trent loved life and lived every minute to the fullest. He was known to his friends and family as a solid, happy, strong, joyful, and dependable man. He was an avid Texas Tech Red Raider. He never met a stranger. He was friends with people from all walks of life from Chancellors to homeless people. When people met him, they knew he was bigger than life. His dependability was impeccable. His smile could light up the room and his heart for everyone was even bigger.
Trent is preceded into his eternal home by his father Tom Woodward, sister Megan Woodward Gillispie, and his cousin/brother Kelly McDonald.
Those left to continue his legacy are his three sons Olin, Ellis, and Miles and their mother Tara Woodward all of Austin, Texas. His mother Sandra Woodward of Amarillo, Texas, his aunt Sharon McDonald and husband Larry Lincycomb of Amarillo, Texas, sister Brandie Rackler of Lubbock, Texas and his special friend Lani Norman of Tyler, Texas. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Averie, Josh and Brooks Garcia of Arlington, Texas, Alec Lauck of Ft. Worth, Texas, Delanie Rackler of Austin, Texas, Davis Rackler of Newport News, Virginia and Oaklee Gillispie of Amarillo, Texas.
