This presentation, produced by the WEAT Industrial Committee, will provide an overview of filtration technologies and an in-depth look at how pile cloth media filtration is being used for industrial facilities. It will discuss how these filters are designed, important operational considerations, look at applications, review several case studies, and provide time for questions and answers around the technology. This presentation will bring attendees up to date with how this technology has evolved significantly with an increasing number of industrial facilities adding filtration for process water and wastewater treatment.

1.0 hour of CEU credit has been approved by the TCEQ for wastewater and water utility operators.

Speaker: Mark P. Hughes, P.E., Aqua-Aerobic Systems, Inc.

Mark P. Hughes has earned his M.S. degree in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. He holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. Mark has experience in the wastewater industry since 2008. Mark oversees all aspects of the filtration product line as well as provides internal and external technical support regarding products. Mark is responsible for promoting business unit growth through product and project focus by directing programs in order to develop new products and improvements that contribute to business unit objectives. Mark holds his Professional Engineer certification and is registered in Illinois.
