Wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) are a pivotal utility infrastructure engineers design. A mistake that engineers often make is not including operations staff early on in the design of new WWTPs. Operators are ultimately the personnel who own, operate, and better understand how the equipment works. Therefore, it is recommended that operations staff be included in both the pre-selection of equipment and the design of new WWTPs. This presentation will review key areas where operations staff should be included in the project life-cycle, what questions engineers should ask the operators, and what questions the operators should ask the engineers. Those attending this webinar will better understand how to partner with their utility/engineer, allowing for better-delivered projects.
