Water/Wastewater Operations Compliance Director

Responsible for the direction of overall operations of water pumping systems, water storage systems and wastewater lift stations. Oversees the development and monitoring of programs and/or procedures to ensure regulatory compliance regarding water and sewer distribution and wastewater treatment systems. Also, responsible for the facilitation of planning, designing and construction of system capital improvement projects and providing oversight with heavy construction management.

Contract Information Specialist - Construction Management Services

The incumbent will be assigned as a site administrator for the internet-based construction management system. As a site administrator the incumbent will use the internet-based construction management system to: provide quality assurance to the contract management data and documents submitted tracked and responded to through the system; develop of custom business processes, work flows, flex forms and ad-hoc reports; and create a new projects within internet-based construction management system as construction contracts are assigned to Construction Management Services. The incumbent must be proficient with MS Word and Excel software. Additional duties to include but not be limited to assisting with pre-bid meeting agendas, bid openings, expense reports, various admin items involved with professional services agreements with consultants, and support of both CMS and the Planning and Development department administratively.

Accountant Senior

Reviews accounting records and transactions to assure conformance to statewide fiscal rules, accounting system procedures, and accounting policies. Reviews, balances, and prepares monthly General Ledger closures. Generates quarterly and year-end financial reports. Implements new Government Accounting Standards (GASB) statements.

Manager CRWS Engineering

Must have thorough knowledge of the operation of liquids and solids wastewater treatment. Must have knowledge of asset management and SCADA systems, knowledge of Maximo work order management preferred.
Ability to organize and direct technical employees in diverse tasks while managing multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively with management, staff and outside agencies.

Electrical/Electronics Division Chief

Must be able to evaluate situations and analyze problems to make decisions necessary for corrective measures with little direction. May be called up to make decisions regarding emergency situations at all hours. Must be able to motivate large crews to complete assigned tasks and deal with individuals with highly technical education and training.

Regional Manager, Northern Region

Candidates must have a demonstrated track record of resolving management, administrative and engineering problems associated with large-scale water and wastewater projects in conjunction with other staff groups. The position is ultimately responsible for the operation and maintenance of five wastewater treatment plants and one water treatment plant.

Wastewater Systems Superintendent

The City of Fort Worth is seeking to fill the position of Wastewater Systems Superintendent at the Village Creek Water Reclamation Facility. The person in this position will possess management and leadership skills needed to plan, direct, manage, and coordinate the operational and process control activities of a 166MGD water reclamation plant.

Project Engineer (Development Engineering) and Project Engineer (Pipelines)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: •Identifies projects; develops project scopes; manages the planning, design, construction, implementation of projects, and directs project execution and schedules for projects. •Prepares, seals, and certifies plans and specifications; prepares and/or reviews construction documents, cost estimates, plats, easements; performs and/or reviews hydraulic modeling and analysis of existing and future SAWS infrastructure, and other submittals by engineering consultants and internal staff for completeness and correctness. May include large scale and long term projects. •Prepares request for proposals; evaluates interest statement submittals; and ensures effective implementation of professional services contracts. •Manages project, schedule, and quality performance of the team. •Negotiates contracts, settlements, and issues with SAWS contractors, consultants, and the public. •Manages construction projects by inspecting the progress and quality of the construction work and budget status; reviews drawings, submittal and analytical test reports; assures conformance to the contract plans, construction and material specifications and SAWS standards; prepares change orders and contract amendments; reviews and approves monthly pay estimates and schedules submitted by the contractor; and prepares and negotiates change orders. •Leads teams in acquiring necessary project permits; ensures all necessary permits have been submitted to appropriate regulatory agencies. •Provides engineering support and technical knowledge to other departments within SAWS for special projects including development of regulations, specifications, contracts, and studies. •Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external agencies and public relations including local and regional entities. •Coordinates the implementation of interagency projects, developing internal and external project or program teams, guidelines, and procedures. •Applies engineering principles and practices as it relates to design and implementation of wastewater, water, reuse, chilled water, and heating or steam projects. •Prepares and delivers verbal and written presentations to SAWS staff and management and the public. •Performs other duties as assigned. Water/Wastewater Engineer

Provide support for civil and environmental engineering projects including wastewater collection system infrastructure evaluation, rehabilitation, and design; and water distribution system design.

Utility Technician

Under direct supervision, the purpose of the position is to perform semi-skilled work as an operator in the installation and maintenance of the city's water/wastewater utility systems, lines, lift stations, and associated equipment. Employees in this class are engaged in the construction and repair of water and wastewater mains and attendant devices. Work includes connection of fittings, excavation for the installation and repair of lines, the testing and monitoring of water pressure, and job-site restoration tasks. Duties involve exposure to adverse working conditions and occasional adverse weather conditions. Performs related work as required.

Water/Wastewater Electrical Project Engineer

The Electrical Engineer will have overall responsibilities for the electrical design on Water/Wastewater projects including lift stations, storm water pump stations, water treatment plants, and wastewater treatment plants. The engineer will develop drawings and technical specifications for projects based on in-house standards, client standards, National Electrical Code, and local ordinances. The position will involve the design and documentation of the electrical, instrumentation, and SCADA system of new and rehab facilities. The position will coordinate the electrical design with all other disciplines so that the design is completely coordinated internally as well as with external clients.

Wastewater Systems Superintendent

Wastewater Systems Superintendent job duties include the following:

Manage, supervise and coordinate assigned activities and operations related to Wastewater Treatment processes.

Develop, implement, and manage annual sectional budget.

Monitor and evaluate the quality, responsiveness, efficiency and effectiveness of assigned wastewater programs including treatment, reuse water system, plant odor control, and operation of wet-weather high rate clarification and peak flow storage facilities.

Provide leadership and guidance to key personnel as part of professional development through administration of an effective training program.

Assure the quality of wastewater produced meets regulations set by federal, state, and local agencies, and ensures stability and quality standards of biosolids.

Ensure timely and accurate completion of required Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs) and Monthly Effluent Monitoring Reports (MERs).

Record and maintain detailed information on the operation of the wastewater plant and compare the results with goals, regulatory and environmental standards.

Prepare and present staff reports and other necessary correspondence; serve as representative on variety of boards, commission and committees.

Conduct a variety of organizational investigations and operational studies; recommends modifications to wastewater programs, policies and procedures as appropriate

Ensures that all processes are evaluated for efficiency and works with other members of the management team to ensure continuous operations and transitions during maintenance and construction activities

Coordinates activities with other divisions, departments, outside agencies and contractors

Assistant Operator


General Description:
The Assistant Operator is under the general supervision of the District Operator and assists in the installation and maintenance of the water and sewer system; such as, but not limited to water meters, meter valves and boxes, manholes, valves, fire hydrants, pumps and lift stations. Work will include new construction repair

General Description:
This position requires someone who will assist the District Operator in operation of the Wastewater Plant and to learn the operation of all plant processes so effluent meets TCEQ standards. This position requires the ability to learn to keep plant operational records, run simple tests, PH, chlorine residual, through the supervision of District Operator.

Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer

Senior Engineer, Planning and Development, Northern Region

This candidate must be able to lead projects in a team environment, facilitate collaboration and effectively supervise and direct the activities of other professionals. The ability to develop mutually beneficial relationships with TRA consultants, contracting parties and other internal departments is imperative. Strong interaction with Authority operations, maintenance, land rights and construction inspection departments will be important. The Authority prefers that this candidate have experience with water and wastewater treatment analysis, design and capital improvements planning.

Facility Operator I

• TCEQ Class C water license or wastewater license
• All tasks related to the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants
• Water distribution and wastewater collection systems, including lift pumping stations
• Field service response to customer calls on an as needed basis
• Must be able to lift and move equipment in excess of 50 lbs. and the ability to work in confined spaces
• Possess a high school diploma or the equivalent
• Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License.
