The Upper Trinity Regional Water District has secured the last permit required to begin construction of Lake Ralph Hall. Named after the longtime Congressman from Rockwall, the reservoir will be located upstream of the planned Leon Hurse dam, on the Sulphur River in Fannin County. Roughly 7,600 acres of land will be inundated, and the lake is expected to supply 54 million gallons per day to UTRWD’s customers in Denton County, and across the northern Metroplex. With the design phase near completion, UTRWD’s Larry Patterson hopes to have the lake in operation by 2025.
